Citizens Private Bank has accelerated its strategy to build out Private Banking and Wealth Management, scale its Business Banking, grow deposits, and expand in key growth markets. Central to this initiative is our Commercial and Industrial (C&I) product suite tailored to the needs of high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. As a Private Bank, PM Team Lead (C&I), you will play a vital player-coach role in providing guidance, mentorship and oversight to more junior credit analysts on the team, while overseeing the management of the current C&I portfolio. The incumbent will support the development of team members by sharing expertise, reviewing work for quality and consistency, and fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. They will help ensure adherence to policy and procedure standards and best practices across the team.


Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Provide a white glove service to our clients, which includes timely responses to all client-related inquiries and requests.
  • Provide day-to-day guidance, mentorship, and performance oversight to a team of supporting C&I credit analysis across key markets (e.g., CA, NY, MA). 
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performing team culture with a focus on continuous learning and professional development. 
  • Oversee the management of a growing portfolio including revolving lines of credit, term loans and owner-occupied real estate.
  • Ensure timely and accurate execution of post-close activities such as covenant monitoring, draw/paydown processing, and renewal/modification support.
  • Lead the development and implementation of standardized procedures for underwriting, portfolio management, and reporting across the platform.
  • Monitor portfolio risk metrics and ensure early identification of credit deterioration or compliance breaches.
  • Maintain and enhance centralized tools and shared resources (e.g., covenant tracking, reporting dashboards).
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 
  • Interact with private equity and venture capital clients and understand operating models of client businesses.
  • Underwrite credit approval packages for renewals and modifications to existing credit facilities. Assist with approval packages for new credit product originations.
  • Work with internal partners to complete enhanced due diligence (KYC) on borrowers, guarantors, and authorized signers.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience and exhibited competency in various aspects of commercial lending /portfolio management including financial analysis and credit structuring, understanding, and applying credit policy, and credit monitoring and risk administration practices.  
  • Expected to have high level of formal credit and documentation experience in banking
  • Must be skilled in proposing and negotiating and recommending credit and covenant structures for approval.
  • Must demonstrate practical and conceptual knowledge of credit and risk analysis.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills; self-starter
  • Poses high attention to detail ensuring accuracy and completion

Hours per Week: 40
Work Schedule: M-F
Location: Boston, MA (Boylston St), Westwood, MA or Johnston, RI
